Headquartered at Tuticorin of Tamil Nadu state of India, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd., is an oldest bank founded of the year 1921 as Nadar Bank Ltd. By the time India got freedom from the British rule of the year 1947, this bank had already grown faster with 4 branches at the Tuticorin, Virudhunagar, Madurai and Sivakasi.
This bank had started one overseas branch of Colombo of the year 1937 but it was closed after two years of 1939. Today’s Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd., boasts of the country with 245 branches spread of various locations of the country. This bank has tied up with IDBI Bank and HDFC Bank of 108 and 462 locations respectively for pan-India banking solution.
