Known as common men’s bank since coming into operation on 8 September 1936, Bank of Maharashtra became fast growing premier bank of the Maharashtra to expand operation of other parts of the country. This bank was established with an authorized capital of Rs 10.00 lakh. Its total asset is 481 billion today with recorded revenue till recently 6,093.94 crores.
This bank is known for its constant support to small business enterprises and rural sector. Rapid expansion of Bank of Maharashtra started after 1969 when Indian government nationalized it.
