Axis Bank
Today's Axis Bank Limited incepted as a financial services firm named UTI Bank of the year 1994. It was renamed Axis Bank recently. The bank is the brainchild of an idea of the Indian government that augured the private sector to establish new banks of the country post its economic policy reforms for the banking sector.
Many financial groups, including major share by Unit Trust of India (UTI-I), promoted the launch of UTI Bank which was renamed to Axis Bank of April 2007 after its good functioning as UTI Bank for years. The records until 31 March 2009 indicated gross income of Axis Bank at Rs 13,745.04 crores with the net profit crossing 1,812.93 crores respectively.
With Registered Corporate Offices at Ahmedabad and Main operational branch of Mumbai, Axis Bank achieved much popularity of India of short time period. The branches crossing the 1281 figure and several extension counters of many Indian states and Union Territories make its big network. It has collaborated with many international banking partners for its global operation.
